Hi Folks.
Have a problem with my T5. The drivers door lock is completely seized so if the keyfob isn't working for some reason I have no way of getting into the car, apart from climbing in through...
Thanks for that. I'll probably do it when I change the pcv.
Cheers
Moby
I think mine does need doing. I did the rubber glove over the oil filler yesterday and it didn't get sucked in at all, just puffed up.
Could you possibly explain how and where your 2nd catch can...
Had to do my heater matrix year before last as well.
Shame no one seems to have any advice on dumping the PCV system for a catch can. Maybe it's not worth the effort, hence maybe no one has done...
Precaution. Car has done 141K and the consensus appears to be that it should be changed around 100K.
Just wish I could find some detailed info on a catch can system to see what's involved.
Hi Folks.
I was thinking of changing the PCV system on my P80 V70 T5 but my garage suggested ditching it and using a catch can system. Just wondered if anyone had done this, how difficult it is...
Thanks for the comments Pete. I'm actually an electronics design engineer so I shouldn't have too much trouble with the ecu. I do agree though the the rings are worth looking at.
No it doesn't. Just the ABS light and the "Tracs Off" warning.
Well, the light stayed off long enough to get through the MOT so a cure can wait for a bit.
I'm wondering if it could be the toothed wheel being clogged up???? Diagnostics still specifically says...
Well Pete, seems like I wasn't lucky. New rear sensors in and the light is still coming on. MOT runs out this month so need to sort something out.
Well, fingers crossed. Will be putting them in early January. I'll post back the result.
Cheers folks.
So if the replacement sensors don't work for me, how is one of your repaired ecus?
Thanks for the headsup Munster.
Hi folks. Thanks for the replies. It's not the pump as we had a diagnostic unit on it that specifically said the rear right sensor.
I've actually found this on Ebay:...
Hi folks. I wonder if anyone knows the cheapest place in the UK to get a rear abs sensor for a 1997 V70 T5.
So far everywhere I've looked seems to be £100+.
Hopoing I can find it a little cheaper.
That was one of the first things I checked Stephen.
Well, finally got around to checking for matrix leaks. Pressurised the system for an hour and no leaks. Having said that, since the carpet dried out it hasn't got wet again so I have no idea what it...
It's actually new antifreeze and still tastes very sweet if you dip your finger in the rad header tank.
But I take your point martin about where the washer system runs. It doesn't really make sense...
I take all the points about the matrix coupling etc and I'll check that out, but, why does it smell of screen washer?
If it was the matrix leaking, surely it would smell of anti freeze. I also...
Thanks for all the replies.
It's not the heater matrix as I changed that a few months ago, and, as stribo said, it wouldn't smell fo screenwash.
dalhousie, it's an estate I'm afraid.
Hi folks. Just noticed that my left front footwell is absolutely saturated and it appears to smell of screenwash.
Is there anything in the screenwash system that might leak into the footwell?
Is that easy to get at?
An update to this odd noise.
It's not the manifold but it's coming from somewhere around the belt that drives the power steering pump and the aircon pump.
I realised this because when I start in...
Yeah Bigrotch, it was always worse for me on the passenger side.
