we change the front drive shaft bolts for a knocking noise pulling off , Very common but over looked fault.The new style bolts have a rubber cone on them which stops the problem ( old style dont )

if you have 2 filters up there one is a charcoal filter and the other a regular filter. Newer modles had a combined twin filter and you can convert the box to fit new type.

volvo had a recall program for xc90's, it depends on year and vin dates though.We fit loads at our dealer and they usualy have no play in them but are really noisy.

That forte stuff goes in the tank and works with the fuel, try using the forte engine flush then change the oil and filter.We do it on most services in our dealership and it works great.
