Quick question, I have a knackered front wheel bearing (OS) and the rear upper and middle TCA bushes are starting to wear. My question is; can these components be changed individually or is it a case...
Cheers fellas. :)
Obviously not then! That's my kind of DIY job. :D
And we wouldn't have you any other way mate! :)
That is a classic!
Don't dilly-dally Chris, say what you mean!
I leave mine switched on all the time personally, it's a benefit come winter or summer. :)
I'm going to change my front top mounts in a couple of months or so, I have a service book on its way to me to guide me a little. Is there anything I should be wary of when changing them or is it...
DTUK have some tuning options for the 1.9TDi.
2.7 or 2.8 V6 PRV in that (depending on year, more than likely a 2.8 in a 1981). I saw that the other day, a nice project for someone who's serious.
You could make some kind of clip/bracket affair that attaches itself to the area of the relay tray. There's nothing really in that area to use, however you could leave the lower half of the airbox in...
Chav garbage. Ruins the entire car, made worse by the wheels and the red hubs. :(
Add 5mph then. :D
Top bombing mate. We are THE public service for all your Volvo related matters. :D
Cartoonhead, I hope you're appreciative. ;)

Having said that Cartoonhead, the Volvo T5 engines have more to give at lower engine speeds; rev one past 4250rpm on the standard turbo and you'll not benefit as the set-up is for torque at lower...
And yet I've had 18 cars and never had a single one 'blow up', or fail in fact.
It could be to do with the weight of your right foot coupled to your driving style that's the problem. No doubt...
At what speeds does it whine? It could be something as innocent as a knackered wheel bearing, in some cases the bearing housing can clonk when subjected to direction change.
For the time you'll spend mucking about with getting the glass off, you may as well just change the entire unit. You'll always find decent ones on eBay.
Nice car, and rare now. But what's the point in including this photograph? It shows nothing other than the fact that the number plate is reflective.

The sump plug washers tend to leak after a while on the 70 series, worth looking there first I reckon.
To be honest I would prefer a perfectly standard 1800ES. A thing of beauty.

Try red Colour Magic.
Apparently Seafoam is the stuff to use to clean carbon deposits out of an engine, it's particularly good for noisy tappets.
