if it was me i would definatley look at changing the master cylinder i`ve had this problem a number of times on heavy commercials , same set up (hydraulic) but of course much beefier :)

from what you describe i would say you have a u/s master cylinder , the return spring inside the cylinder can break and is therefor not long enough to push back the piston ..................result...

hi i agree with most of the replies above a little copper slip or general purpose grease on the stud/nut and hub will only aid removal next time i done it for the last ten years on my range rover...
