You must have the correct part no. for your vehicle otherwise the performance will suffer.
They All work but deliver different boost at different revs or load !
I had the equivalent remap HML 310 i believe it was and it was designed for the 18T.
The noise is airflow though the turbo as i had also modified my air filter quite drastically as you have also...
Had a similar noise when i fitted an 18T to my `97 T5 It was the turbo howling
It was due to too much boost but i liked the pull so left it as was.
When the boost and power reduced the noise...
Been away from Volvo for a while now but looking up my paperwork i think you should check part numbers for various rods as i believe on your later 2.4 the gudgeon pin height was altered for the...

I wouln`t underestimate Tommy t4 as he has been playing with T4`s for years.
There was a post a few years back on the other side.....where he had sussed out the ECU ......
Although some state hot when doing compressions it is REALLY all relative.......when cooled off all the clearances will alter correspondingly.
I would say cooler is better for a more accurate...
The pre 2000 T4 is 1855cc 200bhp 81mm bore....engine CODE is T4
The T4 model 2000 on is a 2litre 200bhp 83mm bore engine......the engine CODE is T5 NOT 5 cylinder as in 850 0r V70 models but 4....
The 2.0T is 160 /165 bhp depending on year but is the weaker T3 engine.
Boost is around 8psi and can only be safely taken to 12psi with the manual boost controller.
Your proper T4 early model...
Just to add as the plugs and ignition coils have been on and off many times the spring should protrude out the stem of each coil by 5mm.
If not so it can cause a misfire especially if the whole...
Yes, quite a beast!........but for reliability you need the Phase 1 T4 before 2000.
The Phase 2 2 litre suffers the same as the later 83mm bore engines with split liners and the HG`s let go.
...
The reason they are all prone to this gunge is because the "O" ring at the top of the stick either becomes hard and brittle or it is missing allowing cold air down the tube which is warm as it is on...
Just to be a bit fussy......as always?
Here is the actual whole pic from the webpage and to compere with the other one some words are missing from the bottom which i have surrounded with red dots....
Everyone too their own ...but this Torque pro i have used for quite a few years and one day with my V40 T4 the temp. showed 133 C and did i panic as i had just plugged it in after a very quick run....
The force on the main bearings compared to the big end bearings is surely down to the size that they are?
Big ends are 50.000 and the mains are 65.000.

If the A/C charge is too high the fan will run continuous also some models it can mean a MAF problem!
It all depends how much money you want to throw away??
The rubber diaphragm in the standard CBV on a V70 T5 is what i believe to be the most reliable part of the whole entire Volvo!
Yes, i did...
I once owned the same model and it was the `97 one same as yours .
Didn`t use it much maybe twice a week around the block to keep things moving.
I bought a digital boost gauge which also had...
Very true .......even if the water pump did hardly work the coolant still circulates due to the Thermo Siphon System (Effect) which all engines have built in.
Which is so long as the thermostat is...
There is really no need anymore for these security wheel bolts as most modern cars including the early V70 i had was fitted with the Tilt Sensor and if jacked up the alarm goes off......
For any sensors for the T4 do NOT go aftermarket.
This model is so sensitive to sensors just bite the bullet and buy the correct one from Volvo.
If for any reason you don`t and you are unlucky...
I had a `98 model T4 for 3years which was the UK spec "CD SE"........the CD has all the options as standard as it was top of the range but the base was an SE. The CD`s of Volvo`s in that era were all...
