Yup - read the codes if you can. Also worth searching on here to find out about the little elbow vac pipe which is known to split, leak and give you the lambda light on the Phase 1.

You running STC or DSTC? Can't comment on the latter but my STC is crap, fussy and in-effective is the way I'd describe it - seems too easily overcome from a standstill and gets all paranoid about...
BTW - the old hoses are absolutely filthy and will stain your hands for days if you don't use gloves.
Follow the air intake from the grille, back to the air-filter box, you'll see the little grey TCV hanging off the airbox on the left.
The hoses are colour coded:-
Red goes to the compressor...

Anybody know if there's a reader/ software combination which can log the wastegate solenoid duty cycle on a Phase 2 T5?
Have been looking at the ELM327 but doesn't appear to cover this parameter.
Jeez!
Remove the battery cables from the battery, ensure battery is completed disconnected then touch the cables together, apparently.
1st sign of madness - talking to yourself
2nd sign of madness -...
Hiya
Can anybody advise me how to complete an ECU fault code and adaptations reset on a 2001 V70 T5 please? I don’t have a code reader at hand but would like complete the reset without having to...
I'm afraid I can only comment from a Phase 2 V70 perspective and that is:-
Yellow hose from TCV to actuator, easy to access and easy to replace;
Blue hose from TCV to intake pipe, again easy to...
Could well be the 'red' one - that's the main pressure hose from the compressor side of the turbo which effectively 'powers' the TCV/BCS.
If you're chipped/mapped you'll be able to hear the recirc valve doing it's thing when you come off the throttle.
First port of call for boost issues is the TCV/BCS and associated hoses followed...
TCV (BCS) hoses are 1/4 inch / 6mm. Go with re-inforced silicone (Samco) or some decent internally braided SAE fuel hose.

The wastegate is essentially a controllable turbo by-pass valve for the exhaust gases - as such, it is used to vent excess exhaust side pressure to control the boost the turbo produces. So, it will...
2 degrees of separation from 5 Star, who'd have thought it? :)
5 Star, didn't they do that song called 'Rain or Shine'? lol
AFAIAA Fuelsave is 95 RON so it's not really suitable if your running a remap and ragging it. BUT it does have the higher content of...
There's a couple of old (classic?) cars that people up my steet run, including a MkII Cortina, very old Mini, Morris Marina (vomit); a Porsche (can't remember the model) and some kind of old sporty...
Well, my trip to Scotland didn't provide any conclusive results I'm afraid and what's more my overboost problems returned so the car was driving a bit erractically.
Anyways, I averaged 31.5 MPG...
Fancy switches huh? Would that be 007 or Mario Kart style? I'm liking the idea of banana skins!
Polyetheramine!
The infernal cup-holder, nice design, the ratchet mechanism is a bit on the flimsy side though.
Mine had been broke since I bought the car - turns out the plastic ratchet stop had sheared due to...
You could try getting the s/w update and have butterfly valve cleaned at an indie. The software update may stop the limp-home mode as it stops the unit from completely losing sight of its throttle...
..bump..
Has nobody ever replaced the actuator on a Phase 2?
Update:- the part is available separately (kit from FRF) and Forge are developing an aftermarket unit but I've not been able to...
Problems!
The symptoms I'd solved by calibrating my turbo wastegate actuator have returned after a few thousand miles so I can only assume the actuator is going duff, which is annoying to say the...
Heading up to Scottyland this weekend so may try a tankfull on the trip - apparently it has the same friction modifier and concentration of cleansing additives as Vpower, which gives plausible...
