1. Are the little things that connect to the grills by the fog lights earthing points? One of mine is hanging loose, will this be a problem?

Can you tell us how much power they are getting. I 'think' if they was getting power but not enough, they would try and work, but if yours arent doing anything, it might be the motor itself.

Do you have a multi meter? Have you checked the motor is getting power?
Relays would have been the 1st thing to check, mainly because its so simple to do.
