Have you tried starting with it in first and the clutch pedal in?? Should reduce load on the starter too. W

Dont worry - I checked them all today and they were all within the .30-.40mm tolerance range. 4 valves were on .39mm but nothing under .35 so no significant seat recession. Panic over for another...
