Hi all,
My 2003 V70 170 is starting to have little faults starting with the electrics. First my sunroof died (open) in the summer, then the bulbs have started to fail, the display now shows...
Cheers Dicky.
Will look some up. Do they handle well and last??
Well Ive got the car back...well it looks like the one I put in, but drives like someone elses. It feels fantastic...new powerflex bushes on the front and a new steering rack. The steering and...
To find out which rack you have you can phone the dealer and provide your chassis number or...the easy way is to turn the steering wheel from 'lock to lock'. If you do this 2.75 turns is a ZF rack...
Car is in the garage at the moment...A real pain. My P2 has a ZF steering rack and there are very few available at the moment, so one option was to take mine off, send it away and wait for its...
PM'd
Cheers Badger...I'm a bit dull and the car is locked away at the garage. How many bushes do I need?
Hi all,
Please don't read the full 'original' thread by me called BAFFLED BY STEERING as it all went a bit mad (11 pages I think).
I own a 2003 V70 2.4 SE (only 170 bhp) and have had vague steering...
£94.00 per hour PLUS VAT is the dealer price for labour!!!!!!!
Why do they call them 'stealers'??
Am getting the issue fixed at a local garage. I'll post the rsult as and when it gets fixed.
Just an update...never did get the towbar so am still looking.
Money for towbar now spent on fixing my broken sunroof. It appears that Volvo dealership would like me to sell my house in order to...
No. It will take a long time to fix is all they said.
They powered it from a seperate unit to close it so I guess the motor works.
Spent an hour and a half - so they say!!!
I have my doubts.
Definately not going back for the repair...I'll go anywhere to have it sorted rather line the pockets of stealers.
I deal with thieves...
Dealer managed to close the roof...but have not fixed the problem. They want £74.50 for their labours plus VAT!!! I'm off to another garage to get it fixed I think. Can't bear to think how much the...
Bomb...tried the 'percusive repair technique' (hammer) and still no joy. I have to drive an hour to the nearest dealer tomorrow to beg someone to have a look at it. No idea if they will allow me to...
Found this on the internet, which shows a V70 P2 sunroof removed. There doesn't seem to be a manual wind mechanism.
(lots of swearing!!!!)
Can't seem to get the sunroof switch out - the plastic feels too brittle and I don't want to snap anything.
I've felt behind and there's nothing there to show anything to manually wind it back.
...
iyswim????...wtf?
I'm no good with electrics...haven't got a clue what I'm doing.
In english. UEM to SRM?? I know SRM is Sun Roof Module, but what is the UEM?
Cheers Bomb...but the sun roof is jammed open and what you've posted says it must be closed.
I'll have a go anyway (doing it in reverse!)
I know about clicking the thumbnails...I was just after attaching bigger photos directly onto the post.
Thanks anyway.
By the way Badger...how do you attach pictures the way you do? Thumbnails are a bit too small to see details.

Here's the photos of mine.
The main difference between the mine and yours Badger is the fitment of the sunroof switch. The oval hole appears to be a mounting hole for the switch as I've looked /...
Well, I've just taken the access panel off...there doesn't appear to be any way to manually wind the sunroof closed!!
There are only 2 x torx screws, which hold the motor in place.
I've taken...
So there IS a manual winder???
Thanks Badger...I'm off to rip the panel off in a minute. Think I might take some photos for reference as there's nothing in the @haynes' manual about this topic.
