Thats nothing, there was some muppet on the VOC forum recently claiming he got 45 mpg from his t5 on a run, he got most upset when i suggested either he couldnt do simple maths or he was complete...

The t5 fuel consumption isnt crap, its what you expect given what the car is, if you were getting those figures from a toyota yaris then yes they would be crap, horses for courses
totally agree, i stupidly bought some scam tech arms a while ago, total crap lasted about 12k,finally bought some genuine items off rufe, still going strong 40k later
what exactly did you expect mate? its a big volvo estate, it weighs close on a ton and a half, it produces around 225 bhp and it does 150mph, surely the thought must have crossed your mind before...

sounds like significant engine wear has occured oiling up plugs normally indicates serious bore /ring wear

vacuum testing isnt ideal, as cracks for eg in components like the evap can be pulled together under vacuum i had a cracked evap that was leaking like a sieve under pressure yet held vacuum no...

Didnt you listen in school my boy?, its not a volvo thing, its basic physics, cold air cannot retain as much moisture as warm air, therefore when the warm moist ambient air is drawn across the cold...
the valve your describing is the ptc valve, remove it and give a good clean out

the blue smoke could also be caused by worn rings/bores, classic sign of bore /ring wear is blue smoke whilst accelerating

does it only happen when the air con is switched on? if it does perhaps the evap drain is blocked
