When i first got mine i was worried there was something wrong but was told by several people that it was the way 850 T5's were set up, particularly ex police. Theres a divided view on it, some say a...
Apparently its a common fault on early p2 60's and 70's and the cure is a new door lock. I came across it while browsing on VOC, it's maybe worth you having a look there, it's under the 60 series...
I just bought two 18" pegs at a local car boot of all places just have a nick or two in the paintwork but no curb rash. Just have to find another two to match now.
Can't see as it could really be tyres deforming, likewise pads on disc, without play in wheel bearings anyway. How about tyre scrubbing on bodywork or suspension or a cv joint problem. You say it...
Judging by the part numbers i'd say that genuine parts were used, that would make the total cost about right as a drop link from a dealer is about £50.
I fitted a towbar on my 850 a couple of years ago, but found it was easier to use a bypass relay and tap straight into the wiring at the rear lamps. What year did Volvo introduce the pre-wired socket...
If it helps here are instructions "borrowed" from a towbar fitting guide.
Remove battery cover. Remove bumper (4 recessed nuts on rear panel behind self adhesive foam panel . Drill out...
The cheapest option would be to see if anyone on here is converting the other way round and buy their nivomats and springs, otherwise invest in Monroe Load Levellers or similar air suspension setup.
Not sure about this but could the alarm be using the same door switches as the interior lights? If so and interior lights are out with doors closed that would be four less switches to check, drop one...
Are the V70 high level lights led? I thought they were small bulbs like on the 850 boot spoiler brake light.
Can't really comment on the V70 but i had two in my 850 saloon and still room in the centre for a passenger. I must add though that it would depend on the child seats as some are wider than others.
Hi Rick, it does sound as if you DO have an alarm fitted but that the horn isn't working (they use a separate horn mounted near the bulkhead engine steady mount). When you activate it via the fob the...
When i first got my T5 i took the kids to the ex wifes, motorway all the way, door to door 256 miles.Logged the mileage when i filled up, I took it steady going and got 31mpg, logged mileage again...
Being a bit of a numpty:slap: i didn't realise that age/value of the car had such an impact on insurance until i came to insure the new motor. 02 plate S80 D5 and the insurance is £60 more than my...
Certainly looks a beauty, love the colour too.
Yeah keep us posted cos i've just bought a tractor, an S80 version though.
Does the bulb failure warning light up? May be a fault with the failure warning unit, i think the feed goes to it and then a separate feed out to each brake light. On my saloon its under the trim on...
Not 100% sure but i think all the 850/70 series are on electronic speedos just that they are sensed from different points. But no doubt someone with more knowledge will enlighten us.
Have been considering an S80 D5 if its any good.
Just to clarify, the remote activates/deactivates the alarm and operates the central locking. Your key is the bit that matters, although i don't know what year the "chipped" keys started i'm pretty...
Never seen a plug that colour before, be interested to know what caused it, As for the bottom pic, the bit just above centre is the turbo doofus thingy, if i had a mind i'd say it had just gone blank...
Something else for you to think about is the cam position sensor, as mine went last year and i at first thought it to be an immobiliser fault, engine turns over but no spark.
Hi and i'm just up the road in Immingham, done all my own servicing etc on mine so couldn't say about independants. Will have to start looking soon though cos i've promised myself a new(er) one in...
Nice one, will have to keep an eye open for you now.
The dipstick seal is a problem some have had, have you an oily patch on the bonnet soundproofing over the dipstick? If so just put a new seal on the stick and see how you go.
