Well the clutch pipe turned up today and..........it is for a left hooker ! It's far too short so that kind of decided how I had to fit it. I cut both the pipes and joined them under the air box...

I may do, will have a look into the cost of it, it's time that I'm short of more than anything !
Thanks for that Lee. I couldn't get my Volvo parts catalogue software to work on my laptop anymore to get a part number but using that site gives me a part number of 9143414 (which they don't seem to...
Hi guys. I was unfortunate enough to have the clutch hydraulic hose on my 850R let go on me yesterday whilst driving round Sainsbury's car park trying to find a space (I was 25 miles from home, had...
Thankfully it turned out to be a blown fuse ! Stopped my heart for a little while though !
Hi guys. Had a weird one at work today. Had a 54' S60 2.0t that developed a running issue as the owner drove it to us for refueling. Scanned it and had a list of codes, MAF sensor looked most...
Thanks for that Dave. That actually puts my mind at rest. It does appear that they don't stamp the last digit, just the 'basic id' number. I might put a call in to Volvo parts and see if they can...
Yeah, I know it's supposed to be 81mm (that's what I bought it for, should be same crank as an R but with the 81mm bore of the old 2.3 T5) but if I crack it open (which I will be doing eventually)...
Hi all. I had been searching for a b5244T5 engine from a 2005 on s60/v70 T5 for best part of a year (they appear to be quite rare !). I found one on ebay back in Feb and bagged it. It had been...
If your going to replace the wishbone bushes polybushes really are fit and forget, well worth the money.
Thanks Dave. Was digging around on the net for a while last night trying to find information. Did see on my copy of Autodata for Volvo that it was 35% but had also read on the net that it could be...
Hi guys. I've got a customers 54 plate V50 T5 in at work with a fault code 2900 Fuel pressure faulty signal. I'll admit I don't have much to do with later T5's. My first thought was faulty fuel...
Ah, I forgot about the N/A cams route. You could get the head of a later T5 or R. My original plan was to drop my 850R head onto the 2.4T5 bottom end but then it seemed a missed opportunity to use...
TBH I don't think anything off a non turbo 2.4 would be of any use upgrade wise. Im just about to start rebuilding a B5244T5 engine (2005 s60 T5 engine) to go in my R but I'll admit finding one of...
I got stuck a few years ago in a Tesco car park when my key fob just stopped working for some reason. Opening the door with the key resulted in the alarm sounding, even putting the key in the...
I've had a polybushed pair on my R for a couple of years now. My main reason for finding a pair was that the balljoints are replacable and I was getting fed up with the quality of some of the...
I'm currently breaking my old Volvo 850 T5. I've removed just about everything including the entire dashboard. The dashboard is in much better nick than the one in my 850R (the actual plastic...
Thanks mate, I'll PM you.
I'm glad you posted ! I was reading some old threads of yours just last night, really liked what you did with the pulleys (haven't got any adapters for sale have you ?). Am I right in thinking that...
Would definately go M56 with an LSD fitted. My 855R has done 180,000 miles and the viscous diff is definately now an open diff !. If memory serves the M56 boxes come with slight variations in...
The Vast ecu may have to wait, not easy convincing the missus that I need to spend lots of money on a 23 year old car !
That's an interesting read. Interested to see that he was usung stock internals, I was goin to throw a set of rods in but not so sure it's needed now !
After months of looking I should be getting a B5244T5 engine next week (v70/s60 2.4 T5 engine). My original plan was to rebuild the bottom end (possibly with stronger rods) then drop my 850R head on...
Only other advice I can give is make sure everything is spotlessly clean and there isn't any carbon trapped in the piston ring groove etc.

I've rebuilt a couple, don't remember having to force anything to install the shaft.
