they were corroded about 30cm from the relay itself.
It was the (fuel) main relay, part 3545803, located above the radiator (not the relay near the fuse-box).
That was the beastie! Same problem as bananas, the wires had been 'squashed' insulation broken and the copper wire had turned green and crumbled away. I guess this caused the relay to die. I've...
Didn't know about that one - I'll take a look. Thanks.
850 1995 T5,
Anyone know what causes the diagnostic reader to fail to read codes?
I can no longer even get 1-1-1. The LED has a very faint light which goes bright when the test button is...
I don't hear the fuel system prime, perhaps that's why the ECU isn't giving any codes or powering up. I have already changed the fuel relay though... I'll try the main relay.
not the rpm sensor....I'll try ignition module next then, thx!
I'll certainly give it a go - but I wasn't getting a spark so I'm not hopeful :-/
engine turns over, but doesn't catch (no spark).
Hi guys, after leaving my 850 T5 (1995) standing for a week - it no longer starts!
Anyone got any tips on what it could be:
Battery is fully charged.
Cam sensor replaced.
Fuel Relay replaced....
Should be written on it... from the two cars I've had these are the numbers...
One is Bosch A5.2 (P01275003), the other Bosch 9.2 (P01275105).
Could be that the windscreen seal is a bit worn and letting water in. Check the footwell under the layers of carpet/foam. If anything is wet there it can be a symptom of windscreen seal leaking,...
850 T5 is a handful in snow, despite it's Swedish pedigree I think they only tested it in Barbados. The old 240s are so much easier...as is just about any other car I've driven.
With the wide 'n'...
Ah, that's a shame.
Thanks for the info though - bonus if anyone buys the '95 car then!
oh...I thought there was an immobiliser on the 95 car. Using the key, the engine won't start unless the electronic fob has been pressed.
If the immobiliser is the problem... is there a remedy?!
Yep aircon on both.
One is Bosch A5.2 (P01275003), the other Bosch 9.2 (P01275105).
Not that these numbers mean anything to me!
The '95 car has a code reader attached. The '96 car requires an external code reader.
Strange that the older ECU works in the newer car, but not vice-versa. Anyone else found this incompatibility?...
Neither cars have cruise control. The engine fires in the 95 car, but quickly dies.
Anyone know why a '96 ECU from an 850 Estate won't run in a '95 850 Saloon that has previously been RICA'd? Both cars are manual, both BOSCH ECU.
The RICA'd ECU works in both cars, but the '96...
I get about 1mpg better average with RICA - driving style is the same, some cruising, some blasting, some town, some motorway.

Southampton - "South Hants Garage" - Volvo specialist (Empress Road, Bevois Valley) seem to do a decent job - better prices than a dealer.
Cam-sensor?
Had mine done for about £44+vat per wheel, did a great job. Lots of quotes for 50-60 per wheel though! But 80-100 does sound a little steep.
Similar thing happened to mine. Some cowboy tyre fitters air-gunned the locking nut on :-(
When it came to removal many months later, the head of the nut sheared off.
I tried drilling down the...
