what polish you using to get the best shine

so what sort type make of polish do you lot use to get the shine so deep , i did mine today with autoglym clay bar then super resin then the gold Attachment 21332

process without a machine polisher is limiting to an extent.

To get the best shine you need to remove contaminents & reduce the swirls.

AG SRP is good because it has lots of fillers in it. Plus if you use the ERP on top it will hold all the fillers in for longer.

The final finish is all down to the preparation.

If you want the depth & clarity then you need to invest in a DA polisher, pads etc.

to get depth you need to cut the clear coat, so something like a mild compound/cutting polish
i us megs ultimate compound and really work it, even do it twice then use a good fine polish and again really work it but don't let it dry out wipe off before it drys and re-apply. then protect with a couple of coats of wax, remember to let it cure.

i personnaly love the meguiars ranges so

ultimate compound, ultimate polish and goldclass wax. at work we use 3m gear which is just as good.

ive never been keen on autoglym you have to work really hard to get it to do anything and it gets very powdery.

I use 3 Bulgarian's and £10 :)

yep dave is right you really need to get a machine one it aswell a DA will serve you very well.
its all about finding what works for you, the products that work for me might not suit you.
just try a few different recomended products out and see what works

i have used autoglym for years and always had a good shine but first time i had a light coloured car. dark colours seam to show a better shine than light colours i now found imo

Me too. Been using M/z IP as my work horse for many years. I kinda got used to it. I like megs ultimate compound for pre-treated top coats as it cuts & cleans at the same time.

been looking at a machine one for a while but never used one before not sure what to get or how to use it right??

No - absolutely not.

washing removes the unbonded contaminents - traffic film, general grime etc.
Claying removes the bonded contaminents that don't come off with washing. Car needs to be really clean before you start polishing (see my guide).
Or else you risk polishing dirt into the clear coat.

There are other methods - megs DC #2 or TARDIS can be used to reduce claying effort.

no mate the clay bar removes contamints from the paint before you start cuting and polishing. so your not grindding them into the paint.

my advice is dont get a rotery polisher to start with, you can do alot of damage if your not concentrating and they do take practice to get it right.
start with a da polisher you will struggle to do damage with one and they are a good learning tool and give you good results.

if you go to youtube and look for meguiars open garage on wetsanding there are 5 videos about wetsanding and buffing with rotery and da. its hosted by to of the worlds best detailers. its a really good watch and you can learn alot.

Before Haynes (weather permitting), I'm going to try a clay bar and that Meguires Fully Synthetic Wax after using the Carnauba Wax first. Mind you, my coachwork is in a pretty sorry state after 241,000 miles that nothing short of a fully body respray will bring back the showroom finish. There's lacquer peeling in places after a poor respray by owner number 1, car park dings and lacquer damage from bird lime droppings that the first owner just left on the paint. That's on top of the bumper scuffs and stone chips.

I think the DAS-6 PRO is a very good model. CYC do it with a variety of polishing kits. I like the menzerna polishes & lake country CCS pads.

Best ive used upto date is a machine polisher and auto glym pro paint and a final auto glym hd hand wax I have honnestly never seen the car so shiny and like a mirrow weather thats down to the machine polisher or the auto glym I dont know but well happy
