Volvo C70 Cabrio Code readers

Volvo C70 Cabrio Code readers to diagnose soft-top problems.

Is there any members who have, or know of such a code reader, if so can one be used to operate the roof if re-calibration is required.

I was discussing this with Kings Motors the other week, the only Volvo thing that will work with your roof is a Volvo System Tester. A VCT 2000 or Dice won't do it.

Thanks Tim, I'm hoping re-calibration isn't required. I'll soon be having a scan done with VIDA and DiCE, hopefully it will reveal the nature of the problem. I can then do the mechanical checks and any hardware micro-switch or pot replacements then have local Volvo dealership to do re-calibrations if needed.

It would be good if there is someone who knows what protocol the Volvo System Tester uses?

Ok, does anyone know if the ‘Volvo Scan Tool' is just Volvo jargon for VIDA/DiCE, or is it another piece of kit all together?
If it is another piece of kit, does anyone know the Volvo part number?

hi,ive just replaced the complete roof on my c70 cab and after fitting it works perfectly with no re calibration ?

hi,no there was a fault where i had the chime sounding to indicate that the cycle was not complete......replaced the entire roof and lid assembly ...and now works perfectly with no issues :biggrin:

I've booked in for a diagnostic on Friday over at Tyn Lon Volvo dealership over in Llanfair PG, better known as
llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysilio gogogoch
or as someone once said ‘somewhere in Wales'
Tyn Lon have not long sine done a complete re-fit on a C70 roof so ought to have the tech know how and experience to identify the problems.

System scanned on Friday, two thinks are now apparent the VIDA/DiCE can interrogate the CRM, but able to calibrate.
unfortunately their VST is no-longer functional so not able to re-calibrate.

Dose anyone know of
1# a dealership that can do re-calibration?
2# anyone that posses a VST?
