Didn't even know it was up for sale, but I don't really see it being a good thing. Hopefully I'll be proved wrong.

can't see it as a bad thing. it has opened up the doors for sales of volvo to china. i think there economy is a bit more stable than ours at the moment.
Anything is better than the engine robbing, debt ridden previous owners.
I think that the sale of Volvo to china is Wong... rrrery rrrery Wong :)
Sometimes it's better to get in with the winning side (China will be massive in cars in 15 years time...)
maybe now volvo will have a proper 4 wheel drive, dougt it will be rear wheel drive,
maybe skyline running gear lol,
or atleast a volvo able to take lots of power through more wheels :)
More like they'll do a 17 seat conversion..
Yeah... lets say the Chinese make the next S60R into their 'skyline beater'
who'd be complaining then?
Only problem is ... it may have one of those golden nodding cats on the dash...
It's going to be called the "Pantry Boy Supreme Wowlvo S60 R"

Yeah but it's not Nissan or Toyota it's been sold to....It's Geeley!!!, maker of cheap western looking crap.
It's the year 2015...... walk into a bar... try to look manly.
"is that your car outside mate? looks good. What is it?"
"It's a *cough* pantry boy supreme Wowlvo S60R"
The thing is ... no one will dare laugh, The Triads now sponsor Wowlvo.
Yeh thanks for talking the pi** out of us chinese
C'mon - no one gets special treatment here :) it's a sign of affection.
I'm getting a bit concerned by the jingoistic humour that's prevalant in this thread which is sounding like a deleted scene from a 70s sitcom like "Mind Your Language"? No amount of BNP-style mateyboy rib-digging can mask the basic truth that we, as a Western nation/society are on our arse and quite possibly in a slow but irrevocable tailspin, whilst our industrious Eastern neighbours disappear off with the future in their hands.
It's easy to be complacent when you have everything comfortably at your fingertips, like the greeny loonies who roll their eyes about China as a "polluter", whilst they conveniently make/recycle all our crap, out of sight and out of mind. The same complacency and sniggering about their industries has allowed them to dominate. Now pull your eyes to the side and say "velly solly" to all the Chinese people who have to read such disparaging remarks whilst working the clock round to keep you in the comfort you enjoy, for now anyway.
