Strange ticking noise from engine bay??

Hello all as the title says I've got a strange ticking noise coming from the engine bay when the car gets warm.
It happens every 5-10 seconds then two in quick succession. It sounds like something is catching in the fan but there isn't. A guy at work says it could be my fuel evap canister does this sound viable? Any help or ideas on this issue cheers :)

I had a noisy coil in mine - it was so loud you could hear it over the radio! Local Indy ran checks on it and said it was fine. I replaced it anyway with an OEM one. Nice n quiet now.
