Some more updates. so since last time i fitted the 2nd foglight. its not wired in yet due to chopped connectors but it now looks a lot better and not like a beater and that bracket was a pain in the ass to fit! i finaly got a full set of light up switches from the states too and removed the one that had "Auto" on it due to not having auto windows yet.
also then fitted a set of genuine volvo wiper blades front n back due to the old ones being utter crud. and a few goodies from the states. including a oil temp guage and VDO sender that replaces the sump plug so next oil change it will be installed and a nice EQ611 original equiliser for the radio.
my jetex exhaust finally arrived too looking nice and shiny to replace the old rusting out back system and to give it some growl hopefully, the EQ was a nice easy install just replacing the lower din unit. it takes power from the cig lighter and lights up at night! but it has drastically increased the sound quality. works along side the stock amp so now its the speakers that are topping out so they will need to be replaced soon.
Both fogs now installed

Following on from yesterday i also got rid of the 740's old leaking sunroof and replaced it with a glass one from a 940 thanks to my freind Ste for being the doner for that and john for letting me use his workshop. turns out the sunroofs were ALMOST a direct fit but the 2 front bolts either side of the mid point bolts are in differant locations on the 940 because volvo. so re-drilled and bolted up all fine and no more leaking (so far) and i think looks a bit nicer =)
bye bye old metal sunroof

Nice work, good to see jobs done properly!

another small update in terms of work done but a HUGE change to the car. today i got my new seats they are outta 940 16V (or once was) from jay who gave me a amazing deal. and with the old style headrests could easily be 740 turbo intercooler style. i also re-adjusted the sunroof as its close possition was just a smig off but no leaks even though a HUGE rainstorm so headlining is a go to be re-fitted =)
better pics will come towmorrow i was up till silly PM fitting these seats. i wanted to get them in badly!

More faffing with the bus was done today and what a transformation it has made. finally got the headlining back in after checking the sunroof didnt leak anymore with some help from john to hold it up gave it a good scrub too before installing in the car and now the car has been completely transformed inside and is actually fun to drive again. i also got my wiper squirters working replaced the rusty screws in the center console for stainless and installed another grab handle by the driver (partly because i broke the trims!) and i only blew 2 fuses trying to install the fiddly center light without touching the wires together! oops.

another small update just as things are still going on here =) replaced a few bulbs and found out why i had 1 numberplate light out. cause it wasnt there at all! turns out the wiring behing it was shorting out on the bodywork so taped up and is now good as new. i replaced the rear brakes with the recon units and barely broken in disks + pads from the battleship.
the fronts wanted to play games n round off and be stuck so that will be after my germany trip new brake lines and a grinder to that i think! i also got some nice shinys from ipd. a adjustable panhard bar with polybushes already installed for when i lower it. a lanyard and keychain cause the old keyring i had was crud some new squirters as mine had packed in and couldnt un-block them at all.
some new pedal pads as my old ones were practically disintergrating by now. a nice spark plug lead guide and a sticker to add a touch of ipd to the dashboard. i also installed my oil temp guage but no sender yet due to the sender i got being from a 780. V6 so differant thread GAH!!!

Some more updates on this old rattly bus.
anyway the 740 got treated to a new dizzy cap and magnecor leads. noticed when we did the cylinder head that the cap wasnt in the best condition ever so decided that can go and the leads add a nice touch along with some new clamps n such from parts for volvos.
then we also got my jetex system installed. it uses the original first silencer (or CAT if you have a 90's model) and is a 2.5" system gives a nice sound without being overly loud more sporty than modified and with Kjet gives a interesting engine note if the damn viscious fan wasnt making a hurracane up front so that needs to go in the bin soon.
the car was also treated to a nice Ste machine polish that has drasticall imrpoved the color just need to re-paint the rear quater as thats all badly painted and i replaced my cracked headlight with a new pattent part one so good as new now

And im back from my epic europian adventure. 3000 miles to berlin and back in the volvo so heres a few pics from the general car side ill post some con pics in the next reply just before i set off i installed a new offside indicator unit just to get rid of the faded one too and changed the oil again just before my trip just to be certain.
nothing major went wrong on the trip the car averaged 27-33mpg usually and thats fully loaded cruising at 90 through germany so really cant complain! only had 2 small issues one was my oil filter decided to unscrew itself (luckily just as i arrived at the hotel!) so that was done back up n never caused a bother again and the indicator relay deicded to fry itself. but comming back to england over every bump the car was loosing all power. aka ignition. engine, hazzards everything turned out to be the negitive batt cable has eaten through the posotive one and they were shorting over bumps so thats fun. will all be sorted soon. anyway heres some pics for now! ill talk about the con in the 2nd post
