The exchange of opinions on this forum including our expected response

The matter of exchanging opinions on this forum has come up a few times in recent months. I'm hoping that this post will go some way to clarify the conduct we expect when opinions are made.

Firstly opinions without detail are not tolerated by anyone! As stated in the rules we wouldn't expect members to merely state "I wouldn't use" without qualifying that statement with details.

Negative or Positive comments must have a level of detail and basis so that a balanced discussion can be held.

The exchange of opinions must not include personal attacks. (Name calling etc). From now any post deemed to contain a personal attack will carry an account suspension of 1 day, likely to increase if personal attacks continue. (This isn't just purely for exchanging opinions).

Balanced debates must be done respectfully! You must respect that others have a different opinion to yourself.

As long as posts meet the criteria set out in the rules, they will remain in all but the most exceptional of circumstances. (i.e. A court case ruled that you were not allowed to publish such a remark and that said court case has already made a decision).
