I did mine when I was installing the do88 IC, intake and radiator. The front end wasn't removed either.

I suppose if you were fitting an intercooler maybe taking the front off may be useful then, but I've only ever done pcv's on 850s even then when replacing an engine with everything else that's advantageous at the same time
Seeing that reminds me I have to fit square engine mount poly back on.
If you have access to the round mount, this one is better ;)

The yellow square on the picture lasted 48 hours... The engine mounts are brand new.
I've got round and square, both poly'd it's just a case of changing it over when I've got a minute.
Just read through from page 1 some great work very nice motor
that souds great....++++ 1111
Truely wonderfull car
This weekend found out the tailgate lock wasn't working.
Removed the trim to get to lock unit unplugged the harness from the lock unit tested the supply to plug and yes working fine ,live & earth flips on lock unlock at the pin's.
I did fit a new harness just after I got the car so no real suprise.
Next remove lock very easy just 3 screws , the motor was stuck in the unlock position gave it a tap and it freed up quite nicely pluged it back in now working again.
so now need a new lock motor if it's sold on its own or new lock.
Well got lucky and got a dealer old stock ,brand new lock £25 . List is near £160.

The yellow & grey wires supply the power to the motor . You get a 2 sec pulse one way to lock then it flips to unlock.
The two other wires gives a not locked signal to the dash.
Harvey, I didn't realize that this was Alistair's car. I've have seen it in the flesh cos I met him once with some wheels that I moved for him. I had my p2 V70 at the time and there were nice pics of the cars together.
