Just had my first attempt at wrapping and dechromed my grill. Not the easiest thing to start with but results are pretty good. I'm about 95% satisfied as there are some small creases on the corners of the badge.Attachment 31410Attachment 31411

Nice, goes with the wheels.
I like that mate want to do similar with mine
You got any close up pics? That must have been a pig to do with so many inward contours! Only experience I have with wrapping is my microwave (yes, microwave, I'm not joking!) and that was a fiddly arse of a job.
I took the grill apart and only wrapped the metal parts. The badge was the hardest part and is now starting to pull and wrinkle. The hot weather has caused it to lift on the surround in places but it sticks back down again. I don't know if this is due to the quality of the wrapping plastic or not. Got it on ebay. I may have to spray it instead but I've never had much success spraying chrome as it suffers from stone chips which then looks a mess. I will try to upload photo later.

That looks great. Fair play to you for having a go at wrapping it, I certainly wouldn't have the patience it.
I've had similar experience with black spraying a chrome grille. Even though i sanded it prior to painting, the finish still wasn't perfect, and after a while it inevitably succumbed to stone chips.
Are there any other ways to strip the chrome of a grille like this?
Haha, that's hilariously coincidental! We have (had) a Samsung microwave that has sort of metallic red trim all over it, which was fine in our old modern kitchen as it went with lots of other red bits we had. But our current flat had an awful old farty kitchen with minging green tiles everywhere and the red microwave (and toaster and kettle) stuck out like a sore thumb. We just recently had a new kitchen done, and the kettle and toaster I'd replaced with chrome ones a few months back so I decided enough is enough, the microwave has to go. But do I spend £100 on a new microwave? Nope, £2.50 on a sample sized bit of fake brushed aluminium vinyl from eBay and it was sorted. Looks great!
Hairdryer and a craft knife were an absolute must.
Did my grill today with Plasti dip. That worked well but I failed to dechrome the side trim as it peeled straight off

Oh dear, did it damage much behind the bumper?
Ah bad luck, sorry to see the damage, hope you're back up and running soon.
It looks nice, you have changed your car wheel as well.
Here in Sweden it's quite common to replace original chrome grilles with black ones
