Where else are we going to get are mpg figures from ?

Filling up at the pump, but to be fair I wasn't far off at all on the run on Saturday.
But at least by the clocks you can get an idea if your better or worse.
Work it out!

The dash is calibrated for stock injectors.
My dash says 62.1mpg right now lol.
On a trip i get about 700km to a full tank.
I'm sure you can tell the computer what injectors to are running, might reckons I'm getting 18, which seems about right going on the mileage I clock between fuel stops.
when I had my t5 I used to work it out on trips by filling tank to brim doing the mileage the filling it to brim again always was around 35mpg.
Also on the gauge when full dropping from 15gallon to 10gallon ide get between 150-200miles
There will be a correction map for larger injectors so the MPG is right. You can also play with it to get the factory crap right too ;)
Here you go, I took this for you the other night, just to annoy you until your diesel box is fitted.
Give or take 2,350 / 2,400 rpm is 80.
I tend to ignore the dash read out and calculate it based on fuel used between full ups and mileage covered, the computer reads about 37 so around 2mpg out compared to my calculations but then it is running greens and not the standard injectors. As for the calculations I get to they're based on the mileage the car has covered according to the odometer so naturally there will be a margin of inaccuracy there but then I'm sure it's not a phenomenal difference from reality and gives me a rough idea what the car is doing mpg wise.
I have an M66 box from the 2.4 T5 and have just done a full tank nearly the light came on and said 60 miles to empty and at that point it had done 320 miles 180 of that was cruising at 80 on the motorway the rest has been round town and A road blasts.
For my M66 80 mph is just under 3000 rpm 70 is just over 2500 rpm.
I will only get another 30 miles at the most before I fill up even though the computer says 60 miles to empty, It lies like a man with a forked tongue lol
So that will be 23 Mpg for that tank of fuel, now that is a good week lol if it's town then its in the region of 260 miles between fill ups.
Owning a modified T5 is not cheap to run, so no one should ever think it is lol Even if you fit an M66D box!
Do what I am in the process of doing keep the 850 for when you want to go fast and to track days and get a Modern car petrol or Diesel!
According to sat nav with a tuned 300+bhp the most I have had out of it on the Autobahn 178mph
I`ve mite have found out why my mpg is so bad,
When setting up the AFR`s you have to remove the "lambda threshold" from the map,
Once to AFR`s are stable the "lambda threshold" is set to 4ms across the rev range.
At normal motorway driving the load is just above 4ms so the car goes from closed loop to open loop which can cause a high mpg.
So tonight I`ll be raising the "lambda threshold" to 4.5ms across the rev range and hopefully this improve my mpg :)
Another way to improve you mpg would be to fit a diesel engine. ;)
I have checked some data runs and have raised the lambda threshold to 4.5ms.
I also had a look at other parameters regarding the lambda and when you reduce the amount of Start Basic Injection Quantity to a more civilised value, you will be surprised, with the amount of fuel you can save.
If you reduce this Delay time to lambba regulation on time as well, you will be surprised of the reduction in fuel consumption you can make for short trips, without affecting the behaviour of your tuned car.
Can't remember, is the lambda threshold a single value or is it variable across the rev range?
