I think the Chinese are quite progressive in their approach in many ways. They want to make monkey (like the Americans) but appreciate in stability, and long term investment is part and parcel of that - rather than being very aggressive and looking for immediate returns like the Americans do.
Philosophically I think Europe is more aligned with Asian cultures than the USA anyway (apart from us Anglo Saxons)
Volvo could end up being a top premium brand in China - and they like soft luxurious saloons there - not rock hard S&M style street rod saloons, and who'd argue Volvo isn't more into the luxurious quick saloons ? :)
