From a distance (maybe a substantial one) you could maybe get away with saying the pegs were refurbed with a polished lip...would mean kerbing the other 3 to match though

small update....the new exhaust flange is taking shape and a last minute bargain arrived tonight to compliment the 3" system, a ultra cheap s60r manifold and only 4 miles away (thanks Alex, he did make me put that ...lol)

well on closer inspection, I feel the angled flange and manifold both need some opening up

There is a lot of metal to come from the manifold to turbo flange as this looks quite restrictive and also could do with some knife-edging inside too, I would like to port match the the head but time could be against this at present and I would also wind up do it again, when the new head is ported fully, so seems a bit of a waste of time to do now and not the easiest job to do right with the engine still in the car, but I will check it and if it's going to be an just a tickle in the exhaust manifold ports, it will get done at fitment. I'm not going to mess with the head whilst it's in the car, as it's difficult to get at properly and who knows were the swarf could wind up.

The angled flange could also be opened up and smoothed out a tad to improve the transistion for the gases from the manifold through into turbo housing

Coming along nicely! I don't get on much and it moves forward quickly for me viewing it now
At least that turbine housing is better than the smaller td04hl housings, here's a comparison
http://s28.postimg.org/8bype2q3h/IMG...220603_893.jpg
Think the bigger one is the 7cm2 housing and the smaller one is a 6cm2 housing.
Problem with the smaller one is it doesn't match the output from the exhaust manifold (on the more open japanifolds and s60r manifolds), that tight neck closing in quickly I guess wouldn't help (but then I don't know anything about flow and restrictions, etc LOL)
19t, greens, 3" everything... (some girls don't like it that wide)
Stop buggering about ade..
Go big or go bang :)
lol....Martin, could have fitted a 19t and greens years ago, they've been sat on the drive here on the v70r for a couple of years now, keep toying with a bigger turbo, ut I really would just like to sneak into the 13's before I change it, daft I know but I'm still dead set on proving Frankie wrong and I'm only 0.4secs away from doing it.
It'll get opened up this weekend, when I can get it into work and can get at it with my ata gun and a carbide bit. I might get the lads on the shot blast to freshen the manifold up looks wise and then give it a nice coat UHT paint when I get home. I am considering making some form of crude flow bench just so I can see how much difference there is between the japanifold and the s60r item if there's time to compare them.
Coming along well mate, look forward to seeing the result April!
Molesport Engineering been busy again and completed the new 3" exhaust flange ready for the down pipe modification to allow it to fit the angle flange.
Started as a roughed out blank.

got a bit of work to do to mod the downpipe to work, very tempted to make a completely new one as some of the welds look a bit restrictive but they may not be, it's functional but it just looks a bit cobbled together imho

Bit of grinding and polishing sorted, but not sure whether these bits will make it on to the car for shakey next weekend, the pic's of the finished items aren't the best, but I'll try to get some better ones before fitment.

Opened up and knife edged with some light polishing (not than the pics show it too well)

I'm still not sure this manifold will produce any more power than my japanifold in my current state of tune, but we'll give it a go and see if it makes any difference to the 1/4mile times.

so other than some port sharing there's not much difference in them now they're both knife edged internally, may look at somehow making a flow rig to measure them later on, but flow is one thing, making power on the dyno can be a totally different thing.
Looking good needs a new leaf blower now to make the most of that porting
That is a good point Stewart, it is currently in hand and should be happening some time this season when I hope to be datalogging as well, so hopefully we can alter the map/maps to suit as we go.
you've got to get them fitted before Shakespeare, interested to see how it all goes with the 15g
That will all depend on access to the tig welder as we are on factory shutdown at present and the downpipe will need modification to suit the angled flange, even if these bits don't get on for the first race, they should be on for the next one. Times should improve at shakey as we've done a 14.3 at york and shakey is definitely far more grippy, but I don't think it will give the full 0.4sec improvement I'm looking for.
Well it's time to sort the Olive out for her mot, which was due a few months back, but I parked her up for a while. So time to sort the front arch liners and bumper alignment/attachment as they didn't like it last year and whilst I'm in there pop the new oil cooler on, change the exhaust manifold and turbo exhaust housing, all bits aare done and ready to fit for the dv re-circulation so that will go on too. Thinking about also doing a pcv delete and plumbing in a nice catch tank in place of it, if I can decide where to mount it that I'm happy with. I'm also going to remove the nivomats from the rear and replace with the fk's that I had off of Colin some years back, these should stiffen the rear on end compared to how she is now, would have fitted these years ago but I like the way I could seriously load the car and 1/2 a mile down the road alls level and no one as a clue how much weight I'm carrying, but after watching a few vid's of my 1/4 starts something has to be done to address the rear end squat and bc's are out of the question at present unfortunately, so will have to stay on the wish list a while longer
