I just put it down to the crap road conditions. Alas, it would appear that it may have been, after all, the AOC Haldex pump starting to fail. Being an electric pump, it must have been slowing down or producing less pressure, much in the same way an electric fuel pump can partially seize up. This surging went on (only when pushed) for several months until it finally stopped working.
Those symptoms have now completely gone. Pushed her hard the other day from a junction in the lashing down rain and it pulled hard, smooth and did not falter whatsoever in the "tyres letting go" department! No torque steer at the front, no DSTC light flashing. It just felt "planted", "sure footed" and within seconds, my 100% confidence was back along with my beaming smile! :B_steerin
One to watch out for lads!
