not quite that much!
that would melt the vinyls. Lol
If i was at home, i would edit the video with a bit of flame on, but blink and you'll miss it, so maybe best i dont bother?? Lol
evening all!
just doing some checks on the car fluids etc.....
the power steering fluid looks like a chocolate milkshake???
that cant be right??
how do I go about flushing it out and replacing it with some nice new stuff?
and the tank for the power steering fluid seems to leak quite a bit, looks like its coming out of the cap?, maybe there's another problem causing that??
also, anyone have a list of plod volvos? I'm starting to sense something here,
but I'm not sure??? lol
from underneath the car find the 2 pipes from the PAS pump, they are bolted to the subframe & be under the airbox sort of area. One of the pipes is a low pressure return pipe & should be connected with a simple jubilee clip, thats the lowest point in the system so best to drain it from there. The system is fully independant & a very simple system, all you've got is the pump, tank, 2 pipes (high pressure & low pressure return) & the steering rack. If it is playing up you better just replacing the whole pump & tank assembly
as always....pedro to the rescue! lol
no pics though???
I dont remember anything about NOT running it, but I would guess at a no,simply because its not an original part that was on the car pre '94.
I'm not sure my little racing battery could cope anyway!! lol
which surprised me when I looked back through your thread, your still using a wet battery? think of the weight man? lol
anyway, back to the steering, I'm assuming I need to drain and top up at the same time so I dont get an airlock in the system?
any ideas on the leaky cap?
it is a heavy duty battery i'm using at the minute but will get a smaller battery eventually, probably still be a wet one because i want to remove to try running without the alternator & want to make sure theirs always enough power to get her started
as its a pump with return feed it should bleed the air back to the tank itself. Drain it, fill it back up & turn the steering lock side to side a few timesQuote:

either get a new cap, or do like Volvo did on the BTCC evaluation car lolQuote:

ok, I must be missing something !! lol
no jubilee clips on my pas pipes???
they go under the centre on the engine and onto the bottom of the steering rack.

i'll tell you why, because it comes partly up the front of the engine as a metal pipe then changes to rubber by the fan DOH. Sorry mate, your best bet will be take the return pipe off the reservoir & drain the tank out. Sorry mate i was getting confused because i've linked mine underneath, sorry
