Paper Gaskets vs Silicon

Hi All,

Will be putting my cylinder head back in soon, and was wondering what people thought of the thin paper type gaskets?

I have been supplied these for the water unions, in a kit containing all the gaskets and seals for the head. They look really flimsy, but I assume they will react with the water and expand? I really don't want the rear water connection to leak as once the head is on, I'm not sure I can do anything about a leak, without taking the head off again.

So should I use the paper ones or use liquid gasket?
