Success with an ELM cable and ProScan.

After a bit of Googling and looking around the forum it seems the question of 'connecting' to the Phase2 models via the OBDII port is asked on a reasonably frequent basis, with often unclear answers.

So I took a punt on a cheap (13quid) ELM327 cable from eGay and a copy of ProScan4.0 I had - and SUCCESS!

I had to tweak the values a little in the settings, but its connected and will read & reset common DTCs (although not the body computers) - it will also monitor lots of live values and can record for analysis.

It also has a nifty dragstrip function, which can record 1/4 miles and 0-60 etc. I presume its pretty accurate as all the data is coming direct from the ECU. I have set it up correctly with the wheel sizes, weight etc.

I can imagine with a copy of VADIS this could be very useful.

So, as a quick, cheap and easy way to connect up to a P2 model, a cheap ELM cable and a copy of ProScan will sort you out.

i use the bluetooth version, & normally use PCMScan but that only does diagnostics & dash readout. I like the 1/4mile feature so i'll give ProScan a try

I also have proscan, and it works great (apart from the newer versions don't work with my old ELM323) though I did only pay $39 for it a few years ago.

I'm not sure, but I think that VADIS only connects with a Volvo Scan Tool.

I have the .Net Scan-Tool - which has both BT & USB capabilities - but the software doesn't have any boost gauges :(

if anyone has the bluetooth version of this ELM327 as i have and an Android phone i can highly recommend Torque Pro (paid for version) it does all the above and uses GPS for your times

Same as deathrider here. Elm 327 BT and torque pro app. Works ok.

0 - 60 in 6.9 seconds isn't bad, I think the 'official' time is 6.6 for the 2.3 T5 (assuming it hasn't had a remap or something)......

7.2 is the official 0-62 for a T5. Mine did it last year in 5.6 seconds.
