Hi all,
I have the 2 kids seats in the boot.
I want to fit a sub somewhere to boost the bass and take the strain off the std speakers.
Any good ideas of where, doesn't seem to be too many places left.

With the 7 seater you dont have much space left for a sub as you say. You could make a side mounted box for under the window between the c and d pillar.
I'll take some pics of mine tomorrow.
I dont have the seven seats but I think you should be able to fit it in
Cheers;
I've looked at the sides but i was worried that the depth after the cabinet is built is too shallow at approx 100mm before it clashes with the kids seat mounts.
After another look, I think the only place is to build off the tailgate inwards. Effectively make the tailgate an additional 6 inches deep into the boot from where it is now. May make the tailgate look wierd when open and will prob break the hinges and struts but there doesn't seem to be anywhere else.
At least this would give a decent size area and enough depth just to get a sub in, albeit i think 2 small 6 inches are all that would fit.

I think thats your best bet, you could get a ported 8" there i reckon which would probably be the most effective use, how are your boot struts? they may need renewing if theyre a bit tired!Quote:

I have 2 10" subs and 2 amps. You could put one sub one side and an amp the other to make it a bit slimmer.
Pic 2 is from the seats looking backwards. It is basically a plywood base, a top and side panel in MDF and some struts to hold them together.
My boot floor is wood so you would have to experiment as to how to fix it down.
Anyway, ideas for you. :)

Like what you've done there looks good and fits well, I could only come out 100mm though, yours looks 150-200?
Tailgate still looking good, adding fat gas struts to the list. Prob cost more than the ICE!

You'll most likely find Mulletboy2 one of the most useful resources when it comes to ICE.
Can you get a couple of pic of your entire boot, so that I can see it from all angles please? Also, I'm not familiar with your car.. where does your spare go, and how is it oriented? Often there's room to fit an 8/10" sub inside the spare, if it's mounted face down in the spare wheel area.
What about an 8" sub in a box in the passenger footwell? That'll give you plenty of "up front" bass, which is what usually matters.

Hi mark, the limiting factor for him is he wishes to use the boot space seats which take up 2 thirds (ish) of the boot floor space and extend a little into the spare wheel well. no pics to hand but i'm sure Jim will oblige :)
Im going to be doing something like that but instead of using the spare, I will be using a full size Pegasus alloy as the sub grill :)Quote:

BlackBeast - nice!

try www.photobucket.com - You create your own account, upload photos to it, then copy the link to the location of that photo and it displays on screen in your posting. Its a lot easier than it sounds i promise!

If you attach only one picture then the vBulletin software will automatically stick up the pic
However if you post a link from a site then it will only show if you put the link within picture tags (use the insert picture tool in the editor)
