it might be the pipe from the pcv breather on the bottom of the inlet pipe that goes to the end of your inlet manifold next to the power steering ,it starts with an elbow rubber joint to that thin...
As Pete has pointed out Phil that thin pipe goes into a 90 degree grommet on the end of the PCV heater piipe connector, that fits into the J pipe,

its sounds like the little vac pipe from the pcv i very much doubt this is the problem will the less grunt your having i would check every vac pipe for leaks or when you fitted the blanking plate did...
If it was the top mount then maybe I'd do something, But I can't see the springs going anywhere from the lower mount. Might get a bit a bit grindy when you turn though.
Both sides of mine have sort of, Well, Rusted. LOL.

that's exactly the same as mine - i thought the damm TRACS might be broken making that 'orrible noise from the nearside wheel.
why does it just spin the inside wheel ? - a faulty ABS sensor on...
Deffo Heater Matrix as mines just gone. I got a quote from Rufe of £150 so sourced a second hand one in good condition for £30. I fitted it the other day and whilst it was a bit fiddly and you spend...
Try Rufe for a genuine one, probably your best bet

the rear axle isn't solid, its a Delta axle (2 seperate axles that cross). The design of it gives a bit of active rear wheel steering
