if you got a pair of mole grips you should be able to get a good bite on it and undo it,
done a few like that,once its started it usualy comes undone.

dizzy cap may be damp inside or plugs old and knackered..

without fault codes my best guess would be

1. cam sensor
2. crank sensor
3. immobiliser

Could be fuel pump.if not try coil pack.

Map, mbc, panel/cone filter, de-cat (if possible). Cheap power upgrades.

mbc's are only a good thing mate when used with a remap

You are est to lock the cams with a cam tool or by making one. Haynes should show you how. The cam covers have two V grooves cut into them where the cam timing marks are to be lined up against and...
