Yeah - probably. Assuming all hoses and everything else is all in order. The ECU controls the boost solenoid and dumps off pressure according to the prgrammed paramters. Hose leaks, splits, stuck...

Probably no way to tell for sure, except drive two cars back to back and see how they feel - put it on a rolling road, and check the boost level. If it goes off the white bit of the gauge (and is...
That's a nice looking car from what I've seen in the pic's on VOC, certainly worthy of a new engine and although looks a daunting challenge to change, it's not that bad to do once you get at it,...

£50-100 as a Trade in or as a big project posssibly as much as £700.
Sounds like the compressor has seized up .
Just unplug the electric fitting on it , this will stop the clutch from coming on when the heater asks for it.
Long term, if you are not going to fix it...
if I remember correctly, the abs nsf wheel speed sensor provides the signal to the speedo/mileometer. Mine stopped working when I swapped wheel sensors as I've not rewired the newer ones back in...
Thats pretty normal mate
I still think there'll be a bigger leak somewhere
Yeah, disconnected guage pipe would cause a big enough leak to make it run badly.
Black soot on the plugs ties in with rich running associated with boost leaks
Like Colin said, certainly sounds like a big boost leak.
I'm in Manchester, no mechanic by any stretch, but if you want another pair of eyes just give me a shout.
I would bet it's split the turbo to top boost pipe. All your symptoms are of a major boost leak and not a blown turbo, so don't panic to much :)

No mate there's a adjuster under the leather cover on the handbrake lever, this mod will does stop the car rolling back when the brake is pulled on.
They are sealed unit but can be rebuilt, have a look on the p2 tuning thread there is a guide. Early ones had chocolate shafts and splines, that wear smooth out, however you can save a fortune by...
new ones are available here.. http://www.reluctorrings.com/
and more specifically here... http://www.reluctorrings.com/cars/volvo
They are simply heated until cherry red then slid over the shaft. Then when they cool they literally grip on tight as!
To remove, simply break off the old one and heat up (with a blow torch or...
Delta link bushes, it's quite quite to strip the rear end own 1 hour ish then it's just removing the bushes.
See t5pete thread has a guide
Front wishbones... polybush - 3 hours if you're good with the spanners
ABS rings - do at the same time as the wishbones
Rear pads - easy, yes, they push in.
Dunno about the trailing arm bushes tbh...
The TME exhaust is telescopic so it adjusts to both cars the V70 is approx 3" longer than the S60.
There is a difference in length, some systems have the rear box adjustable , to fit both (basically you can slide it back and forth) you'll have to check both systems.
There's about 50-70mm from the s60 to the v70 the v70 is the longer one !.
You'll need to extend the tailpipes a little.
Beware of droning tho, V70 tends to resonate.
Best thing to do is change the gearbox oil as it's by far the cheapest thing to do.
It does sound like the clutch plate is dragging in the flywheel or the pressure plate ,the splines on the...
If your transmission oil is low you'll likely have issues with all gears, I'd be looking at the syncro for 1st gear as you may have wear to that part of the internals. When the car and engine warms...
Normally, if you can select gear when the engine is off but not when it's running, it's because the clutch is not fully disconnected or dragging slightly. This is normally caused by either the slave...
