filler cap can let it by quite badly to then it runs down back of engine, just check the seal on filler cap see if it's gone hard/brittle
bin running 850 t5 for over 3 year and it cost £1500 fitted brand new
easy jobby wont take long done it on my t5 when i got it
forte is EXCELLENT gear, i used their auto gearbox stuff on my toyota 100% success no question.
theres a seal that can often leak on the dipstick tube where it pushes into crankcase, couple pence fairly easy fix
had it done almost 3 years ago in river road dagenham, no not mapped yet but it's on the list

no would not think the 2 things i mentioned would affect the boost. if you think theres a boost leak most likely one or more of the hoses is split i should think they do get a bit brittle with age...
usual suspect is the turbo return pipe into crank case cheap fix 1 seal 1 gasket 10/15 mins, and or oil filler cap seal letting it by it runs down over back of engine again a cheap fix
