Like dave says i have changed both of mine more than 10 times. Went through 4 of them in total. The motor can be changed but is a massive pain. Much easier to just change the regulator.

Buy the bilstein oem replacement one's. Just fitted them to my c70 with ebiach prokit springs, nice hard ride but progressive when need to be.

Have you tried bleeding the abs unit, ie: crack the nuts off a bit an tighten. How many times have you bled all the brakes ?
