as far as volvo told me its there own engine but the old v70 diesel was vw. have you herd the noise a vw diesel makes? sounds worse than a tank compared the the d5

if you t5 has a cylinder shaped airfilter then you will need to look up a "R" filter if you have a t5 with a rectangle filter then look for a normal t5 filter.

just to add to mbs how to before removing the brake disc slacken off the hand brake by undoing the nut on the handbrake as sometimes the shoe linings can be pulled off by the disc.

but the wheel on that car is made for a p2 car where as a wheel from a c30,v50,s40 will NOT fit with out a lot of modification.

no easy job you might have to cut and solder new wires as i think they changed the plugs on the new switch's

any way under the air box on top of the gearbox there should be a large bolt looking...

a common problem is the wiring in the tailgate on the left hand hinge.

you could try a strut brace as most c70 dont come with one. this will stiffen up the front of the car giving less movement.

i would of thought when the engine is cold the car should not be running full boost? so as not to cause damage as this is what the later models do.

sorry skipped passed that bit. yeah as i stated the green glowing ring around the lock barrel can play up i think this should be your first port of call as it is cheap and easy to replace yourself.
