Unusual for a main dealer to advise replacing just the bushes as the "official" Volvo method is to replace the entire wishbone.
Approx £150 per side when I had mine replaced at an indy, About £350...
I`m guessing you`re happy it`s fixed given the exhaust you`ve just put on it.
Happy days!
The Big Swede`ll never die.
It`ll outlast you I reckon.
You`ll be buried in it, Egyptian style.
Are you REALLY thinking of breaking it?
New ecu is pricey but only 1/2 of what you spent on the clutch.
Just seems a shame to mate...
Unless you're just bored and looking for a new project.
...
Martin, I`ve already spent £3600 ish and counting!!!
And yours is a petrol...most of my issues are directly related to it being a dirty stinking diesel.

I`d agree with avoiding a cheap MAF.
I got so fed up §§§§ing about with mine in the end I just bought a genuine one from the main stealers.

If the Mrs does start to moan I`ll ask her how much she`s spent on clothes, shoes (Oh God, the shoes!), handbags, make-up etc etc etc. And she`s not even a particularly "girly" girl lol.
Totally agree.
I would only be looking at another £2.5k Volvo if I got rid anyway so I feel I`d be back in the same boat of having to get it back up to where I want it, whereas my current car is...
My dad told me to stop wasting money on mine.
At that stage I pointed out that his 13 plate Skoda Superb costs him about £350 p/month just to have it sat on the drive!

Thanks James.
Give me a shout when they're done and I may well have them off you.
Assuming the cars left me with any money by then lol.
Are you still getting a diagnosis on the g/box today?
Thanks Stephen, don`t think I could face a bill for a steering rack right now!
It`s in for MOT today and getting PAS fluid flushed/replaced tomorrow.
Fingers crossed the MOT doesn`t turn anything...
That car is really testing you mate.
I admire your perseverance.
Good luck, I hope for the sake of your wallet that Graeme`s wrong!!!

Can't get to the car at the moment unfortunately.
Can you describe what I'm looking for and where at all.
Thanks Martin. Damn you're quick!
Liking the new sig pic btw :-)
It`s OK I`ll need to keep mine until I retire.
Cost of car: £1900
Cost of work/repairs to date: £2675

Just relieved that (for once!) it's been a cheap fix :-)
New pic coming soon?
Have you been car shopping Martin?
Because you will have to keep the explod until 2030 to get your money

Just a quick update if anyone`s interested.
It turned out to be the clutch position sensor.
Final piece of the puzzle was a couple of days ago when I noticed it only occurred after
dipping the...
Anything with over 130k or so on the clock will be getting ready for an intercooler and probably a slave cylinder, clutch and possibly flywheel.
Mostly it`s the usual Turbo Diesel related borkage...
Quote: i think i've got a rear shoe collapsed, handbrake almost touches the sunroof before it holds the car
"They all do that, sir"
TBH, even fully adjusted and with new shoes mines still...
I can see why you are "Hyo-car-driac" James.
I get it though, random noises, rattles, squeaks etc drive me mad.
Totally silencing a 10 year old Volvo can get quite expensive though (personal...
