Naw he's already removed the tailgate trim to eliminate it from the process...

black (contact 4 ) is ground
blue (contact 1 ) is live from fuse box
green (contact 2) is live from switch (obviously one direction )
white (contact3) is live ...

There is a 94kg difference the v70r being heavier, apparentlty there was 1800 changes between the 850 to the v70, so alot more than you think

It could be a faulty ignition barrell also. Try wiggling the keys in the ignition on starting to see if that casues anything to happen. The barrell problem does usually show up some dash lights...
