Yeah you can mate.Unplug the connector and just unscrew it.It has a tyre schrader valve on the pipe so no gas comes out.Have a pick or screwdriver handy incase it is stuck open though

Don't see why you can't put twelve volts to it, I had a similar problem on my last car and it turned out that the horn was knackered.
That you do, it's very easy to remove the mirror glass, just pull yours out and have a look at the back of it, the part number is there.
