Reversing lights sensor/switch

Is this a part of the Gearbox Position Sensor or is it a seperate switch/sensor? My reversing lights work as & when they feel like it. More often NOT than working.

On a manual it's a sensor and on an auto it's inside the PNP switch. Guess which is the easier to replace...

Mines an auto so im guessing its gona be £55 quid & sum more spanner/deplumbing/replumbing.
