Hi Guys, great website. I've just bought an explod (cant afford a proper one!!), Y plate 2001 v70-T5. Have experieinced some intermittent misfiring, sometimes between 800 - 1500 rpm, then at 5000 or above, everything in between is hunky dory. I have just replaced the plugs, but made no difference. Is there any chance it could be the coil packs, as I used to have a mitsubishi colt that did something similar below 3k rpm.

When it misfires at high rpm only, the engine managment light flashes for about 5 seconds then goes out when revs are back to normal useage.

If it is the coil pack, is there any way of testing them or is it a case of just buy one and keep swapping it till the problem stops.

Thanks Jed...................

Find some one else near you and see if you can borrow their coil packs as they arent cheap to replace.Where abouts are you?
