HT Leads

Finally got round to changing the leads on Saturday on my 854 T5. Once fitted i took the car out for a spin and it would only boost up to a 1/4 of the boost gauge, the car felt very underpowered but not misfiring, infact the engine sounded good. Was going to wait until tommorow to get the codes read, but decided to try the old leads. I took it out for a test drive after replacing the old leads and the car is back to normal ie Rica 280 normal, boosting all the way to the end of the gauge.

I purchased the leads from PVFO and got the 4 Valve one's. Is there any chance these could be faulty or is not possible for the leads to have the above effect ?

The only thing I can suggest is running it in the dark and look under the bonnet for any arcing.

Unlikely all the leads are knackered. Other than that it might be some newfangled ECU buggery.
Give me back a carb, points and a distributor
