Hey all,

Well finally got my induction kit sorted and the sound is very nice indeed :D however now im finding myself pushing the car much harder than before :( Much more often im taking it to 5000+ revs which I dont normally do, it just gets louder and louder higher up the rev range, hehe.

Soooo... what steps can I take to keep the engine healthy and just give it some more protection (if possible) under this high reving. Obviously im doing the standard service schedule (every 10000miles or 1 year) but is there anything else inbetween this time I can? Ive heard people do oil changes more often than usual, would this help?

Cheers for any info!

Melvin

hi, always change the oil at 6k on a forced induction engine mate, the turbo spins at mega rpm and needs clean stuff to prevent undue wear.

I have no turbo on mine.. C70 2.4i but would doing an oil change more often than the service be any use?

5k isnt that high. (Where is your redline? - I am not familiar with the NASP engines)

As for protecting it using good quality synthetic oil and change it regularly.

Defo use synthetic oil, more expensive but worth it as it doesn't degrade.

If all you have is an induction kit I'd just use a better oil and stick to the standard service schedual.

red line starts at 6k, not sure where the rev limiter is set too as im not going that far :)

I persume the peak bhp is prob about 5k plus but I dont drive my engine that hard normally so taking it to 5k quite often is new for me.

Any suggestions on good quality synthetic oil? or what do you guys use?

Because Oil has been a common discussion you can't do a keyword quick search - so I have tried my best to find the good threads

I got this list by searching on titles only
