Hello and thanks for all the input on my earlier thread, but the quest continues.....following your feedback I've got a set of R springs from a '96 model, but do not know if the rears are for a self levelling set up. How do I tell?

I am looking non self levelling rear springs ideally.

Thanks

james

ps how do I include details of my car and future plans?

It is the shocker that does the self leveling bit - not sure what to look for in the shocker though, i just took it to VT, left it with them, the following day it was on the deck - lol.

Hi Murphy,

I just read your post with interest...is the before and after photo's above of your car?? The only reason I ask is that (with regard to my earlier post "How Do You Tell??), my car sits at approx. the same height as the "after" photo.

Could this mean that I have factory lowered suspension??

Sorry if I am Hijacking the post.

Cheers,

Murphy

Mines sitting on stock 16" Columbias/Columbus wheels with 205/50R16's. I don't suppose this would make a significant difference in ride height would it??

Sorry Tigger 3.

I believe that the self levelers (Nivomats) have a slightly different shaped end/bush that articulates with the rear trailing arm?

In the user CP link (above in the blue menu bar) you have some options. One of these is your vbGarage which you maintain with pics and details of your motor - though you can put what you like in there (within reason)

Alternatively you can edit your signature (also available within the user control panel) and include details there.

To answer your question, a standard, non lowered, non nivomat, T5 estate should look like this:

and like this....

After 40mm lowering it looks like this:

and...

and one more....

Hope these help. :)
