Errrrr....why not just get a friend with a stop-watch !

I tried stuff like that but its not very accurate, and always end up boosting the figures up a little bit!! I think i might do it again when its a bit drier and maybe do a few readings and take an average, ever the scientist!

Go to Avon Park on the 17th April this coming Monday, run your motor, it will give you an idea where you are in the scheme of things against the cars running on the day IMHO.
