850R. Not sure about modding a classic as the T5R; with an 850R it's less sacrilegious, plus has a stronger engine. Don't get me wrong, I'd love a T5-R but I'm not sure I could leave it stock.

I am biased..T-5R of course.

RICA and strut brace is all the mods you will need and looks soooo good that it does not need any other mods..oh and its limited edition. :)

850R.
Why?
:-
Stronger engine, extra 10 hp over T5-R, Limited slip diff...its just better...imo.
Dont get me wrong, T5-R s are nice, very nice. I would only buy a T5-R if it were in canary yellow.

Many thanks folkes for the advice!
It is obvious that this debatable topic, has opened the 'can of worms' amongst the members!
It is down to personanal preference I see, according to your comments.
Having the choice, i think I am going to opt for the 850R, due to the fact that it has more 'bells & whistles' and 10bhp over the T5R (but only if you opt for the manual) the auto is 240bhp same as T5R!
I see that someone mentioned that the 850R has a stronger engine! Please explain? I don't know that, I thought all engines are the same (T5, T5R, and 850R)
Regards you all CAMO! :B_blite:

It's T-5R for me (quite obvious really). Nothing on or in an "R" gives me the desire to go for it over the T-5R. If Olive was to pass away, I would probably get a mondeo or such-like. I fell for the T-5R when it came out and it's that that I enjoy, it's not the T5 or the R, it's owning my very own T-5R, a car that if justice is done WILL become a true and very desirable classic.

I love them both but I have a leaning towards the 850R. My old one was an auto (and I did have a few issues along the way) but overall I thought she was a lovely car to own and drive. The 1/2 alcantera seats (with leather bolsters) were less sweaty in the summer and less cold in the winter. The Volans are also some of the nicest rims I have ever owned.

T5-R Estate in yellow if you want to show, 850R any colour if you just want a motor to get the job done!!
