First of all dont worry, if your not loosing water, coolant temperature is always fine and its still pulling like a train then its 99% not a head gasket. Check the water and see if theres any oil/mayo in there, also check the oil filler cap if theres any water/mayo there. If there is then either suspect a split radiator or a head gasket.
These volvo engines do pick up condensation quite easily though, to reduce or nulify the mayo effect you can do 3 things. Replace the oil cap gasket and replace the dipstick gasket, then take the car for a long blast. These two are inexpensive and very easy to do it yourself.
If that doesnt cure it then you will have to replace your PCV system, basically an oil separator which gets clogged full of oily gunk which increases crankcase pressure and condensation within the engine. If you want to replace this system yourself then it involves taking the inlet manifold off just for prior warning.
Hope this helps.

I get it using Castrol magnatic if the car is not used too often, apparently quite normal just condensation that is occuring and not getting evaporated because the engine is not getting hot enough for long enough

Put the fear of god into me last year when I expected the worse. One year on it still does it when its cold. Check your water as said and good luck:)
