When adjusting the above is it a case of loosening the nut and turning the bar clockwise or anticlock wise, if that makes sense. ??

First off - If you have to ask this question then I would leave well alone!!

The answer is clockwise - and it isnt the bar that rotates - its the nut on the end (the one that is secured in place by the spring clip)
You'll need to undo the locking nut first. Remove the spring clip - Pull the bar up so it slides of the top of the wastegate flange rod - and then rotate the end nut.

If you dont have the right equipment to set up the pressure in the actuator - I would not rotate the end nut any more than 1 full turn (360 degrees)

If you get this wrong and get over zealous - you will spike your engine.

I am trying to cross off the various things that effect my boost spool up time. I am finding with the Rica 280 that I have a second delay after I have kickedown before the boost comes in. Am I right in thinking maybe one turn on the rod may make it spool up slightly quicker ?

I would speak to VT first. Do you believe that your actuator is weak?

Rang Adam at VT regarding my problem. I have my car in tommorow at a local volvo specialist for the codes reading and to check all related hoses.

Hopefully this may show up some fault as to why it is hesitating when kickingdown.

Check your other vac/airhoses first. My PCV breather hose to the induction pipe had come out and gave the same symptoms.
