define "best"

280 you can use standard 95 RON unleaded fuel. 310 requires Optimax or something similar.

Also depends what your looking for in the map of the car - just to pick things up a bit quicker or to go insane :)

Best bet IMHO is to get a ride in various chipped / mapped cars before you spend your money. Then decide "what suits you sir"

Hmm, is the 310 the map with a new exhaust ? Or is it just different software ?

Is the 280 - Stage 1 and the 310 Stage 2 ?

You don't need a new exhaust with the 310 but it sure makes the T5 sound sooo much better. I got to listen to a Miltek yesterday and was impressed, not intusive but more menacing.

Like Engineer says, try and get a ride in different mapped cars at a meet, where are you based, theres guaranteed to be a nutter nearby!

For the C70 T5 2000, 310 map is best!

Also, no need to try other cars, because you get 14 days to evaluate the upgrade on your own car anyway.

As engineer said, try them all mate, I had my car Rica'd in the first place, if you like it manic and mental all at once this will suit you,
I went for the MTE 2 weeks ago when i had my 19t fitted and it was quick, didn't really have time too try it out, over a long period, as the BCS failed on my car and i destroyed the engine,
but i should be getting a new car this week, and the MTE dealer has very kindly offered me to take my T5 MTE remap off my ecu and offered me a full refund, but i asked him could he fit a new map onto my new purchase, which he agreed to do for no extra cost,

I had a C70 with no traction control** running 340bhp on a 2000 plate with 81K. Awesome driving machine...http://www.vpcuk.org/forums/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=10

I dont think that the engine or tranny will be a problem. I advise you to take advantage of the Stage 1 package - which includes a Miltek exhaust (cat back).

Sadly I crashed mine (last Nov) but I am on the look out for another.

I am thinking of getting aftermarket T/C for my next one and slowing down a bit!

(**no driver skill? - who knows)

Gary, things have changed a lot since you had yours done back then :). We are able to change software to suit, so if a customer isn't happy we can change it. Yes people can have a manic mental upgrade, or have a slightly milder version, or whatever they like within reason.

I think a 4 stage map is the best for all occasions including "gay map for when the Mrs borrows the car" - lol :rotfl: :) [no offence to the ladies though :shifty:]
