hi can anyone tell me if this engine cover is an original t5 cover because i thought they all had volvo 20 valve on them.
it is off my v70 t5 auto?http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i91/mwt5/th_DSC_0254.jpg (http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i91/mwt5/DSC_0254.jpg)

yours is a slightly later version. The phase 1 engines do

but because yours is now part integrated with the cambelt cover there was less space - so only the word Volvo remains.

there are that many different spec's and options it is a suprise if you find any two t5's that are the same.

There are 3 basic T5 engines.
1. Upto late 1998 - manual throttle as see above - pas pump reservoir located infront of cambelt. 2319cc.
2. ME7 engine introduced late 1998 - Electronic throttle system - variable valve timing cylinder head -2319cc. PAS reservoir move to inner wing - in front of expansion tank
3. S60/V70 P2 engines - 2.4litres (I dont know much about this engine alas). Air box resized - I think. top engine mount integrated onto suspension turrets
There are variations within these 3 depending on which turbo was added. The majority of turbos are mitsubishi units ranging from the 15G on the 850s (including limited editions) - later the 16T on the majority of T5s (most 70 series inc ME7).
V/S70R used the 18T and some late P1 V70R AWD had the 19T.
More confusingly still for the S40 II, V50 and new C70cc the T5 engine is a rebranded 2.5L LPT?!?!
Indeed the option specs for the trim level and optional extras is vast and confusing at times.

I thought the 850 T-5R (and 850R?) had the 16T ? or is it the same as the 'lesser' 850 T5s?
