Hi guys and gals
Been working at a volvo dealership for 2 years in Leeds and have been quite smitten with some of the motors that are available, although way out of my price range! Then 3 weeks ago a sweet V70R came in as part ex (R reg).
Thats mine, i've got to have it!!
£3500 later and im the proud owner of a very sweet motor.
Wot a machine!!!!

Now I have the task of running it! If you dont try you will never find out!

Cheers, Dave. :jaw:

Hi guys, I'll post some pics up very soon.
3 days after buying it me and the g/f took a trip out to the coast.
Later found out the crankshaft oil seal had gone which had decided to
deposit nearly ten litres of oil out the back, Nice!

A borrowed ramp at work and 9 hrs(on and off) later it was back on the road again, sweet!
Very handy when I work at a volvo dealership.
By the way its nautic blue and its done 150k miles with FVSH, cool eh?!
Next job are the brakes, crap is an understatment!!
Cheers, Dave.

Sounds like you might have bought a lemon if things are starting to go wrong as quickly as that

At £3500 though, its still sounds like a nice motor, PLUS he works at a Volvo stealer, so he quids in ;) I'd of bought it too if it was me :D

Cheers for the comments guys, replaced the brake fluid on thursday and bled them with amazing results. I can stop, sweet!!

Is it worth going for drilled discs and EBC pads?
Do they make a big differance?

Dave.

avoid EBC pads like the plague IMHO. Use Ferodo DS Performance or DS2500 pads.

I'll have to get a set.

Is it worth uprating the discs aswell?

I replace my disks when they wear out. I last used Zimmerman 302mm on the front. Are your disks heavily lipped around the edge?

If you work at a dealer look up Police spec pads, mine are great!

I'm still very happy with my Black Diamond groved disks and BD pads. And I've not managed to set fire to them yet!!

I nearly bought a Nautic Blue R last week :) but wanted to be a bit obscure so went for Cassis,

The're not too bad but its starting to vibrate slighty when slowing down from speed. I'll probably get standard discs and use some good quality pads.
